A Memorable Visit by NDoE Officers to Milne Bay Teachers College


Following the closure of the Principals Workshop in Milne Bay Province, Milne Bay Teachers College had the honor of receiving officers from the National Department of Education (NDoE). The visit is a  step toward embracing  collaboration and strengthening networks to benefit the institution.

The Principal warmly welcomed the visiting guests to set the tone for future collaboration. "Welcome to Milne Bay Teachers College! You are not just guests, but part of our story".

During the visit, Mr. Arulappan  expressed thanks  to the college administration for their warm reception. He shared his amazement at the visible improvements made since his first visit earlier in the year. Insights were exchanged, including a proposal for horizontal benchmarking to adopt and review best practices from other teachers' colleges in alignment with national standards.

He suggested implementing standardized entry tests for applicants, and FAS generously offered assistance in designing these tests to drive the vision for the institution to produce competent graduates who are pedagogically skilled, ethically shaped and morally informed futures. Also discussions included the possibility of negotiating for SBC teachers' guides and syllabi to support MBTC.

Mr. Dua further committed to helping students verify the authenticity of Grade 12 certificates and recover lost Grade 10 and 12 certificates which is a helpful initiative for the student community at Milne Bay Teachers College.

The college administration expressed its gratitude to the NDoE team for their collaboration and support. They look forward to continuing this strong partnership to drive positive changes in future training endeavors. 

Milne Bay Teachers College remains committed to working closely with the professional licencing body ( NDoE)  to achieve quality training program.
